Professor Li Zhang’s lab of CUHK Engineering has been conducting leading research across a broad range of biomedical applications. Funding has recently awarded to undertake an exciting proof of concept project about neuromodulation device. This project will be conducted in cooperation with Faculty of Medicine, CUHK. One of the core aims of the project is to build a high power magnetic pulse generator using state-of-the-art power electronics for biomedical applications, such as rehabilitation. The appointee will work with the research team and clinical collaborators for a fast-paced, sketch-to-trial full-cycle medical device development.

The appointee will be responsible to assist the research team for (i) electronics design and prototyping; (ii) perform tests and experiments in campus and clinical sites; (iii) undertaking other (ad-hoc) tasks as assigned by the research team.

Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree (for Postdoctoral Fellow) in Electronics, Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related disciplines; OR an/a MPhil/MSc/BSc degree (for Research Assistant) in the abovementioned discipline; (ii) a good track record of high-quality research; (iii) good communication skills and the ability to work independently; and (iv) good programming skills in Python and C. Experience in development of biomedical device/instrumentation and/or related industrial experience will be a plus.

The appointee is expected to work collaboratively with other research staff and students in both the engineering team and the biological experiment team. 

The salary and rank are subject to qualification and working experience of the applicants. Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
