Job Responsibilities:
1. Assist in ITF R&D project as assigned.
2. Support evaluating and characterizing optical elements, components, and mechanical fixtures for optical system.
3. Support design, prototyping, assembly, and characterization of mechanical fixtures.
4. Support analyzing opto-mechanical system, enhancement and improvement where needed.
5. Participating in sensing system design and implementation for commercialization.
6. Conduct research and development of sub-micron microscopic optical system (DIC, confocal etc.), Micro-Optics/Diffractive Optics based miniature imaging/projection module, 3D imaging and reconstruction system, laser based optical metrology equipment, hyper-spectral/UV/IR imaging system.
7. Apply ITF funding and execute the projects to build-up a strong patent portfolio for commercialization.
8. Occasional traveling is required.
Requirements:
1. Graduate in STEM-related discipline such as Computer Science, Physics, Electronic Engineering, Information Engineering and Mathematics or relevant discipline.
2. PhD holder or Master’s degree in Electric Engineering, Physics, Optics, Mechanical Engineering or relevant disciplines. Candidates with less experience may also be considered.
3. Experience in optical elements and system analysis, using Code V /Zemax / ASAP/ Tracepro or similar CAE tools in optical system design and analysis.
4. Experience in design, prototyping and assembly of mechanical fixtures for optical system.
5. Experience with one or more of mechanical design software: Solidworks, AutoCAD, SolidEdge etc.
6. Experience in optics and/or precision servomotor control is a plus.
7. Good command of written and spoken English, self-motivated and good communication skills.
8. Strong team spirit and interpersonal skills; Independent, responsible, aggressive, and outgoing character.
