Research Officer (9 month Govt Contract, HKD 40K)

Duties(a) To assist in working out the trial schemes on listing of medical devices;(b) To scrutinise applications on listing of medical devices for trial schemes;(c) To conduct studies and literature review on specific topics to facilitate the analysis of urgent tasks on COVID-19 related matters;(d) To assist in coordinating public engagement with relevant stakeholders and other publicity matters;(e) To assist in ad hoc projects; and(f) To carry out any other duties as assigned by supervisors/senior staff.

Requirements(a) Be a permanent resident of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region;(b) Have a Bachelor honours degree in Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Chemistry, Microbiology or Biomedical Engineering from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent;(c) Have 2 years’ of relevant post-qualification working experience in the fields related to research development, regulatory affairs or marketing related to medical devices;(d) Preferably have relevant working experience in the Government or public sector;(e) Have good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese and have met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE) or equivalent (i.e. (i) Level 5 or above in Chinese Language of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE). Level 5 or above in English Language of the HKDSEE; (ii) Grade C or above in Chinese Language and Culture or Chinese Language and Literature of the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE). Grade C or above in Use of English of the HKALE or in English Language of the General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) (GCE A Level); (iii) An overall band of 6.5 or above with no subtest score below band 6 obtained in the same sitting in the Academic Module of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) within the two-year validity period of the test. The IELTS test result must be valid on any date during the application period);(f) Have strong analytical, organization, co-ordination, communication and interpersonal skills;(g) Have strong skills in project management;
