Programme Director in Nursing Studies and Health Care, College of Life Sciences and Technology
Duties: The appointee will play an important role in planning, developing and managing award and non-award bearing nursing and health care programmes. He/she will perform programme management and administrative duties. The scope of duties has included programme preparation/development and promotion, course delivery, clinical supervision during students’ clinical attachment, co-ordination and liaison with students, teachers and professional bodies, class visits and preparation of monitoring reports. In addition, he/she will assist the programme leader in the daily operation of the subject unit and supervision of administrative staff, perform other academic and administrative duties such as preparation of unit budget and development plan, attend meetings and manage the subject unit as required.
Requirements: Candidates should have a Master degree in a related discipline and be registered with the Hong Kong Nursing Council as Registered Nurse and able to practise in Hong Kong. A PhD with teaching qualification will be an advantage. Candidates should also have clinical supervision and teaching experience. Strong leadership, supervisory, communication and interpersonal skills, ability to manage resources effectively, and excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua) are required. In addition, the appointee must be quality-driven and a good team member. Preference will be given to those with strong academic/professional background and relevant professional qualifications and membership. Experience in programme management and validation will also be a definite advantage.
Terms of Appointment: Salary placement will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The contract will normally be for 2 years with the possibility of renewal subject to review. A contract-end gratuity (taxable) will be payable upon satisfactory completion of the contract.
