Research Assistant

Professor Li ZHANG from the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering is looking for Postdoctoral Fellow(s) / Research Assistant(s) who have interests and/or relative experience in materials chemistry or processing, biosensing and biochemistry. This group focuses on micro-/nanorobotics, functional nanomaterials and their biomedical applications, particularly in pathogen sensing. The group has tight collaboration with CUHK Institute of Digestive Disease (IDD) and Department of Microbiology. The media report of a recent collaboration can be found in the link below:

Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree (for Postdoctoral Fellow) in Chemistry, Material Science, Biomedical Engineering, Biology, Biological Science or related disciplines; OR an/a MPhil/MSc/BSc degree (for Research Assistant) in the abovementioned discipline; (ii) a good track record of high-quality research; (iii) good communication skills and the ability to work independently. Experience in development of biomedical device/instrumentation and/or related industrial experience will be a plus.

The appointee is expected to work collaboratively with other research staff and students in both the engineering team and the biological experiment team.
