Assistant Finance Manager in the Finance Team
Duties: The appointee is required to: .assist Finance Manager (Unit Head) in delivering a full range of financial and accounting activities for China operations, including budgets, forecast, financial and management reporting, statutory accounts, year-end audit etc. .provide professional financial services and support to the Institute for China Business which comprises of subsidiaries and joint ventures in China. .contribute to the enhancement of the financial operation process/system of the Institute for China Business.review course budget proforma for China programmes in compliance with Quality Assurance requirements.assist Finance Manager (Unit Head) in Staff Costs Management and contribute to the enhancement of the business process of Staff Costs Management including annual budgets, quarterly forecast, financial and management reports, and year-end audit etc. .oversee the daily operations of the Staff Costs Management. .update and establish Finance Team Operation Manual and Finance Team Account Manualas required for the financial operations of the Institute for China Business and. Staff Costs Management.comply with the job requirements set in monthly Accounts Closing Time Table and to ensure smooth operation for timely delivery of financial statements and supporting schedules.provide core support in preparing management reports for quarterly forecasts and 3-year Financial Plan. .supervise subordinates and ensuring accounting procedures in compliance with the School's policies and the relevant Hong Kong and PRC rules and regulations, aiming for effective financial management. .undertake any ad hoc tasks as required.
Requirements: Candidates should be a qualified accountant with a Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or related disciplines, and have a minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience with at least 4 years at managerial level. They should have proven working experience in China operation as well as be proficient in the best practices of finance operation, with working knowledge of HKFRS, PRC tax/accounting and good computer skills including Microsoft Office advanced spreadsheets and word processing. Previous hands on experience in Oracle Financial System, Kingdee ERP and/or PeopleSoft Human Capital Management software will be an advantage. They should also possess strong management, analytical, problem-solving, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills, good written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua), and the ability to work well under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
Terms of Appointment: Salary placement will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The contract will normally be for 2 years with the possibility of renewal subject to review. A contract-end gratuity (taxable) will be payable upon satisfactory completion of the contract.
