Graphic, Multimedia Designer - Exhibitions (1 year contract)

Job Description

Provide 2D and 3D exhibition production works in museum (1-year contract)

Daily:

• Prepare storyboards, webpage design layouts, artwork production, edit, retouch and manipulate digitized images for multimedia programs, 2D animation, exhibition and publicity uses
• Prepare specifications and technical drawings for facilitating procurement exercises of multimedia programs, 2D and 3D exhibition production works
• Carry out testing of multimedia programs for exhibitions, checking of color tone against various color matching systems for output accuracy
• Carry out on-site monitoring and installation of multimedia programs and fabrication works in thematic galleries
• Conduct on-site inspection to the multimedia programs, displays and to carry out maintenance works in permanent galleries and the branch museums
• Discuss with subject curators/designers on design requirements and modification
• Archive all digital files upon completion of design works for record purpose and to compile different files to prepare exhibition portfolios

Upon request:

• Comment and advise on multimedia programs, webpage design for enhancing and achieving higher quality output
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisors

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Design (preferably in multimedia, visual communication, advertising or exhibition design)
• Proficiency in Macintosh Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe After effect, Picasa, Sketchup and 3Ds Max
• At least 3 yrs full-time relevant working experience
• Having worked in museums or cultural institutions is preferable
