Patent Engineer/ Patent Attorney

Due to a marked increase in business, we are looking for a full-time, Patent Engineer / Patent Attorney, who will be the lead of our IP team based at our Tsuen Wan office. 

Responsibilities:  

• Drafting patent claims and specification documents. 
• Preparing documentation for submission at Patent Offices. 
• Dealing with incoming post and instructions from clients and associates and actioning accordingly. 
• In charge on handling office actions for the patent and trademark applications. 
• Accurately entering and monitoring deadlines on our in-house record system 
• Answering incoming calls and answering queries via emails and meetings
  and giving basic patent and/or trademark advice and guidance to our
  consultants and clients. 
• Able to draft FTO and patent analysis report is an advantage. 
• Coaching Patent Engineer and Trade Mark Administrator 
• Liaising with other support staff to ensure that the above points are met. 
• Any ad hoc duties as deemed appropriate by the Director 

Requirements:  

• Fully qualified patent attorney in China (preferred) /US/UK 
• University degree in computer science, engineering, bioengineering or chemistry is advantage. 
• Excellent English and Chinese writing skills 
• Experience in other jurisdictions, such as US, EU, UK, JP, or Singapore 
• Minimum 3 years’ solid experience of patent handling in China and/or Hong Kong. 
• Strong analytical skills 
• Ability to use own initiative and be a great, positive team player with a ‘can do’ attitude. 
• Excellent Proficiency with computers, especially the Microsoft Office suite 
• Keen eye for detail and exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask. 
• Ability to work under pressure and deal with ever-changing priorities.
