Junior Engineer

MicroMag Healthcare Limited is a spin-off from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, which concentrated on the application of magnetic
microrobotic technology in the healthcare industry and has committed to providing clinicians and patients with instant and accurate diagnosis through innovative microrobotic technology to save lives and prevent the outbreak of infectious diseases. The Engineer will focus on the development of our current automation system for pathogen detection and help turn our prototype into a
commercial system. 

  

Responsibilities:

The appointee(s) will be responsible in  

• Conducting experiments and collecting numerical data for analysis; 
• Developing new features for the prototype while working with the clinical team; 
• Modifying the current prototype for production needs; 
• Modifying the current prototype for regulatory compliance; 
• Communication with external parties like regulatory consultants and manufacturers; 
• Undertaking other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the research team 

The appointee(s) will work with the research team and clinical collaborators for further R&D of the technology and clinical trials. 

  

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s/Master’s/Doctoral Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines (Fresh graduates are welcome); 

2. Mechanical CAD (in SolidWorks) and prototyping experience (3D printing, laser cutting, CNC machining, etc.) with strong hands-on skills; 

3. Knowledge of magnetics, optics (Microscopy related), industrial design, QMS, and GMP will be advantageous; 

4. Experience in product realization, regulatory compliance, the development of instrumentation, and/or related industrial experience will be advantageous; 

5. Programming experience in MATLAB and LabView is a plus but not required; 

6. Rendering experience in Blender or SOLIDWORKS Visualize is a plus but not required; 

7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; 

8. Willingness to learn and expand skill set to fill multiple Engineering roles 

9. Ability to communicate well with co-workers and external parties; 

10. Ability to work independently without micromanagement
