Job Title: Content Editor/Presenter (TV News and Current Affairs Programme)

Salary: HK$42,640 per month

 

Entry Requirements:

Candidates should have –
(a) (i) a Hong Kong Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Journalism and Communication, or equivalent; and 3 years’ relevant work experience in news editing and/or news anchoring; OR
(ii) an accredited Associate Degree or an accredited Higher Diploma, preferably in Journalism and Communication, from a Hong Kong tertiary institution, or equivalent; and 5 years’ relevant work experience in news editing and/or news anchoring; AND
(b)
met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [See Note (1)].

Candidates who possess –
(i) fluency in Cantonese and Putonghua; and/or
(ii) work experience in writing and editing local, Chinese Mainland, international, finance and sports news; and/or
(iii) experience as a news anchor, with the ability to present news content clearly and fluently; and/or
(iv) experience in planning television news and current affairs programmes
will have an advantage.

 

Duties:

(a) To anchor news bulletins and detailed news broadcast, provide voice-overs for live news feeds and host various types of current affairs programmes;
(b) To write and edit television news covering local, Chinese Mainland, international, finance and sports topics;
(c) To plan television news and current affairs programmes, and supervise research, scriptwriting and guests invitation for these programmes; and
(d) To perform any duties assigned.

[Note: Required to work irregular hours / over-night shifts; to work on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays; and to work during typhoons, Black Rainstorm Signal, “extreme conditions” and other emergencies.]

Terms of Appointment:

Successful candidate will be appointed on one-year non-civil service contract terms.

 

General Notes:

(A) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(G) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. Notes: (1) “Grade E” in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 2” in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth. (2) Candidates may be required to sit for a trade test.
