Hong Kong Museum of Art - Project Assistant (1 year contract)

Job duties:

(a) To assist in managing and coordinating exhibitions and programmes organized by the Hong Kong Musuem of Art;

(b) To assist in organizing, managing and supervising of events, lectures and workshops, as well as social media activities;

(c) To assist in the promotion and publicity of the programmes;

(d) To assist in the management and research of museum’s collections and related exhibition projects

(e) To assist the research, copywriting, editing, translation and other administrative work of the museum; and

(f) To perform any ad hoc/other duties as required

Requirements:

(a) Be a permanent resident of HKSAR;

(b) Have a Bachelor’s Degree from a Hong Kong university or equivalent, preferably majoring in Fine Arts, Art Education, Visual Culture Studies or related subjects;

(c) Possess Grade “D” or above in Use of English of the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE), or equivalent;

(d) Possess Grade “E” or above in Chinese Language and Culture of the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) with component grade “d” or above in the writing section, or Grade “3” or above in Chinese Language in the 2012 HKDSE and henceforth, with component grade”4” or above in the writing section;

(e) Speak native Cantonese and fluent English and Putonghua, good command of written Chinese and English;

(f) Have full-time working experience in art project management. Of all full-time working experience, preference will be given to a candidate who has worked in museums, galleries or art institutions;

(g) Be proficient in MS office applications (incl. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Chinese Word Processing;

(h) Preferably possess photo editing and elementary video editing skills;

(i) Be proficient in using online media (e.g. Facebook, Instagram) and electronic devices;

(j) Be devoted, self-motivated, detail-minded, efficient and well-organised with good communication skills.
