Haymarket Media Group creates award-winning specialist content for international audiences. Haymarkets brands include Campaign, AsianInvestor, Corporate Treasurer and Finance Asia. Haymarket is looking to recruit a talented, enthusiastic, commercially-astute editor to lead its creative solutions division, Content Labs, for its market-leading titles, including Campaign and CEI. The successful candidate will need to balance our clients goals with the editorial integrity of the host Haymarket brand. They will need to balance their creativity with a realistic, cost-effective and time-efficient approach to client briefs. As the Editor of Content Labs, they will work alongside the commercial team, taking a prominent role in coming up with creative responses to client briefs. Reporting to the Brand Director:The Editor of Content Labs will liaise closely with content producers and project managers to ensure projects are delivered on time and to budget. In addition, they will be expected to speak directly with clients to develop briefs, clarify strategic goals, set KPIs and achieve final project sign-off. The successful candidate will be responsible for commissioning and editing engaging content about marketing, advertising, media, technology, PR and business events for a long list of high-profile clients. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Ensure good communication on projects. Take responsibility for the editorial quality control of all projects that go through the department. Ensure the highest standards of accuracy in the departments work, as well as the right tone, style and legality of all copy. Maintain and commission a pool of high-quality freelance journalists and develop as appropriate. Develop strong and effective relationships with all relevant brand owners across, Haymarkets editorial teams, and the relevant publishing and sales team leaders, as well as design and digital development teams. Create editorial content to fit the interests and needs of both the target audience and the business goals of the client. Demand the highest standards of journalism, design and production from both internal and freelance resource. Monitor market trends and adapt your content/approach as appropriate. Experience, Skills and Knowledge Excellent English writing skills, including the ability to sub-edit and proofread to a very high standard they will be expected to both write and sub their own work, as well as freelancer copy. Expertise in at least one of the following sectors would be an advantage: Business events, media marketing, and PR. Creativity and flair. Strong digital knowledge and proven ability: innate understanding of how to bring stories alive in multiple digital platforms, print and face-to-face events. Excellent communication skills the individual will on occasion be required to present and pitch ideas to prospective clients, as well as moderate roundtables and panel discussions. Commercial awareness. Ability to work as part of a team in a high-pressure environment, remain calm and professional. Excellent time management and strong decision-making skills.
